La Alberca La Alberca is a little village located in the Sierra de Francia mountains, 77km away from Salamanca.

The village already existed before the Romans arrived, as attested by the pre-Roman settlement that lies under most of its current streets. There is little information on the Visigothic period, although it is known that materials from that time were used to build the Chapel of Majadas Viejas.
La Alberca was granted the title of Historic Conservation Area in 1940. The village is known for its 2-storey stone houses with white fa├žades that give La Alberca a characteristic colour.
